In the video, you can see hand crews fighting large active flames. While you can’t see the active flames, you can see a quick check on an apartment complex next to the fire. You can see firefighters actively fighting the fire.
The Riverside County Fire Department reported that it was 6:15 p.m. in the area north of Granite Hill Drive, east of Edgewood Point, west of Boulder Drive, and south of the water towers.
An evacuation warning was issued at the same time for the areas north of Granite Hill Drive, east of Boulder Drive, west of Soto Drive, and south of the water towers.
Patriot High School now houses a care and reception center. Evacuees may bring their small pets with them.
Large animals may be taken to the Riverside County Animal Shelter in Jurupa Valley.
The freeway was unaffected, with the exception of drivers slowing to look at the flames.
The cause of the fire was being investigated.
