Allen County, Indiana – Four of the five men accused of a violent beating at Pikes Pub last month appeared in court Monday for preliminary hearings.
Jerrad Impton, Ryan Minick, Christopher Yoho, and Douglas Zuber were formally charged with battery resulting in serious bodily injury and criminal recklessness, both felonies, and a Class B misdemeanor in Indiana.
All four were given no-contact orders with the victim, James Simmons. The judge warned that violating those orders could result in a revoked bond or additional charges.
They are scheduled to appear for an omnibus hearing on August 11 at 9:30 a.m. to enter pleas. Zuber already has legal representation; the other three have until July 25 to hire attorneys.
Minick was detained following the hearing for a probation violation related to a 2023 OWI conviction in Wells County.
Meanwhile, Justin Wert, the fifth suspect, was released from the Allen County Ohio jail on Monday morning and has since been booked into the Allen County Jail in Indiana. He has not yet had his initial hearing.
Last week, charges against a sixth man, Kent Adamonis, were dropped after video evidence revealed he was not at the scene.
The Allen County Sheriff’s Department says the investigation is ongoing.
