The dunk tank event, which is now in its second day, is located at the corner of Court and Second Street. Thrill-seekers and those looking to cool off an officer in the name of charity can participate during scheduled hours over the weekend, which are Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.
According to the Elyria Police Department’s official Facebook page, the event’s proceeds will go directly to Elyria City Schools. Participants who bring a donation of non-perishable food items will also receive three complimentary throws at the dunk tank. The collected food will benefit The Pioneer Freedge, a local food insecurity initiative.
