A woman died on Tuesday morning from a suspected drowning at Lakeview Beach in Lorain.
Lorain Police Capt. Jacob Morris identified the woman as 20-year-old Ayesha Kadi of Lorain.
Morris said officers responded to the beach around 7:45 a.m. after receiving reports of a woman jumping off a break wall into the water and failing to resurface.
Police enlisted the help of the Lorain Fire Department, the Underwater Recovery Team, and the United States Coast Guard in their search for the woman.
Morris said Kadi’s body was discovered 12 to 15 feet under the water, west of the center break wall.
Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident to call the department at 440-204-2105.
