LIMA, Ohio — Could you make a difference in a child’s life with just four hours per month? Big Brothers Big Sisters of West Central Ohio hopes that you will.
September honors the national organization and the mentorships it offers to children aged six to seventeen. The local group is always looking for adults to join, and many mentors say they end up wanting to spend more time with their “littles.”
“But just being present and listening. Erin, I believe it is critical for young people to have an adult who listens to them and not only directs them where they should go, but also listens to their dreams, hopes, and goals,” said Dr. Portia Smith, executive director of Big Brothers Big Sisters West Central Ohio.
