FORT WAYNE, IN- Super Shot and the Allen County Health Department have teamed up to launch the “Be a Flu Fighter” campaign.
The campaign is a community-wide effort to boost flu vaccination rates throughout the county. Nationally, the goal is to have 70% of elderly people aged 6 months and up vaccinated each year.
Connie Heflin, Executive Director of Super Shot, believes that getting the flu shot early is one of the best ways to deal with flu season.
“Initial indications show that it could be a bad flu season, so this is our way of protecting yourself; (making it that if) you do get the flu, (it’s a) less severe case and keeping you out of the hospital,” he said.
