A Florida man threatened President Donald Trump, Tesla CEO Elon Musk, and Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino, according to police.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Sheldon Biddle, 25, allegedly told Trump to “shut up before you end up like Kennedy.”
According to the Ormond Beach Police Department, the defendant has been charged with state counts of making written threats to kill or injure, as well as being a fugitive from justice.
“Do I need to (expletive) kill someone to gain attention? Hellooooooooo?” Another incriminating X post reads, according to an arrest affidavit filed in April and reviewed by Orlando-based CBS affiliate WKMG. “I am so sick of my government betraying me. I’d rather die fighting for what I believe in; all of you fake Patriots disgust me.”
Biddle had an active federal warrant for his arrest, and he was arrested on Thursday at a park on North Nova Road.
“We have absolutely no tolerance for threats of violence in our city,” Ormond Police Chief Jesse Godfrey stated in a press release. “No one should feel unsafe in their place of worship, neighborhood or community, and we will act swiftly to hold offenders accountable.”
A review of the X account authorities linked to Biddle reveals a slew of antisemitic, racist, and anti-LGBTQ remarks.
“Biddle is known to have made antisemitic statements and radical threats of violence under the guise of protecting the Constitution,” police stated in a press release. “He has also expressed hostility toward law enforcement.”
In the post targeting Trump, the defendant allegedly referred to the president as a “tyrant” and stated that he regrets voting for him due to his support for Israel. Biddle also reportedly threatened Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Another post from the X account in question reads: “@TedNugent is a boot-licking traitor to America, and the @NRA has never done what the majority wants.” Want someone who is willing to kill tyrants? I am your guy!!!!””
According to law enforcement, the United States Secret Service launched an investigation after learning of his actions.
A federal case has also been filed against Biddle, on one count of threatening the president.
A brief, redacted indictment alleges that Biddle “did knowingly and willfully make a threat to take the life of the President of the United States in a series of online posts, specifically indicating that the President was going to get assassinated for engaging in treason, with the intent to communicate a true threat of violence and with recklessness as to whether the communication would be viewed as a true threat of violence.”
According to records, the defendant is currently detained without bond at the Volusia County Jail.
