Seventh-day Adventist Church offers Summer Blast to help the community

LIMA, Ohio – A local church is giving back to the community through a week-long event aimed at assisting families and spreading joy.

The Seventh-day Adventist Church launched its Summer Blast program on Sunday. The event will feature giveaways, children’s activities, and inspirational messages for everyone. The giveaways include school supplies, groceries, clothing, and other items. With over 900 people already registered, the church is ready to bless others.

“What we’re trying to do is help people understand that there is someone in the community who loves and cares about them, and that is this church, right? So we want to make it clear to them that we love them and are doing our best to meet their spiritual and physical needs. So we are a church in the community that cares about the community, and we want everyone to know that we are here to help them,” said Carl Brooks, pastor of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

“It’s been well received. You know what Jesus did, right? We are modeling Christ. What did he do? He met people’s spiritual and physical needs, right? And then he told them to follow me, which is exactly what we’re doing,” said Courtney Simons, first elder of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

A meal will also be served following each program. The Summer Blast event will continue until next Sunday, June 15.
