Bakersfield, California – Several people were arrested in Rosamond after deputies allegedly discovered several firearms during a search following a burglary report.
The Kern County Sheriff’s Office stated that on August 19, 2025, at approximately 11:39 a.m., deputies from the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Rosamond Substation were dispatched to a reported burglary at the Dollar General located on Rosamond Boulevard.
When deputies arrived, they discovered that three suspects had allegedly stolen approximately $144 worth of laundry detergent before leaving the area in a vehicle.
According to the KCSO, deputies discovered the suspect’s vehicle at an apartment complex in Rosamond’s 2500 block of Diamond Street around 12:30 p.m.
Deputies formed a perimeter around the home. During this time, one suspect attempted to flee by jumping from a second-floor window and running down an alley. He was apprehended following a brief foot pursuit.
According to KCSO, deputies issued commands via a public address (PA) system, resulting in the detention of several people, including the remaining two burglary suspects.
Deputies from the Mojave Substation responded to assist in the execution of a search warrant for the residence and suspect vehicle.
While the stolen laundry detergent was not recovered, deputies allegedly discovered multiple firearms, including an AK-47 and a sawed-off shotgun, as well as a large amount of ammunition and drug paraphernalia inside the home.
KCSO arrested Andres Martinez, Joseph Eslick, and Bruce Liddle.
They face charges for:
- Second-degree burglary
- Felon in possession of ammunition
- Conspiracy to commit a crime
- Resist/Delay/Obstruct a peace officer
- Theft with two prior convictions
- Felon in possession of a firearm
- Possession of large capacity magazine
- Possession of firearms with violent felony conviction
- Possession of a dangerous weapon
- Possession of a firearm against a court order
- Possession of a firearm with altered serial number
- Possession of an SKS rifle
Additionally, while deputies were serving the warrant, Cody Bohannon, an unrelated individual, was seen walking nearby. Deputies identified Bohannon as having an outstanding felony warrant and took him into custody without incident.
