The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) has asked Van Wert County residents and others involved in local transportation to provide feedback on proposed safety improvements to three major thoroughfares. The public meeting, scheduled for Monday, July 21, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Vantage Career Centre, will serve as a forum for discussions about the future of US 30, US 224, and US 127.
ODOT’s plan is to steer the conversation, which includes a presentation followed by an open house setup. According to an ODOT announcement, the open house will allow community members to meet project teams, interact with exhibits, and provide feedback on the design.
ODOT has assured those unable to attend in person that all materials presented will be made available on the project websites following the meeting. Each project has its own website, accessible via QR codes distributed by the department. This move promotes inclusivity by providing an alternative avenue for engagement for residents who are unable to attend the venue at 818 N. Franklin St., Van Wert.
ODOT has acknowledged the importance of including all community members in this discussion. Requests for interpretation services or other accommodations can be made through a variety of channels, including the project website, mail, email, or calling the project managers, whose contact information is listed on ODOT’s project pages. To learn more and access these resources, please see ODOT’s announcement.
