WATERTOWN – On Sunday, July 20, 2025, Mother Nature disrupted another planned racing schedule at Casino Speedway.
The racing season was delayed by a week due to a postponement on opening day, which was followed by four consecutive racing programs. Since then, four of Casino’s six scheduled events have been cancelled due to rain or heat.
The DRC.-TV Street Stock Tour will kick off the second weekly racing program on Sunday, July 27, at 6:30 p.m.
Other racing programs are set for Sundays, August 3, 10, and 24, as well as Saturday, August 16, prior to the Season Championship event on Sunday, September 31.
The battle for season points crowns is still very much in the air. Todd Stark of Watertown (266 points) leads Tommy Nichols (262) and Terry Reilly (234) in the Midwest modifieds.
Andy Rossow of Florence (261) leads the street stock class, followed by Maria Broksieck of Goodwin (248) and Jayden Bogh of Huron (232). Trevor Walsh of Watertown leads the Gen X late model division with 262 points, followed by Curt Kranz of Watertown with 256 points and Tony Croninger of Watertown with 253.
Chad Becker of Aberdeen (257), Jayson Good of Watertown (252) and Trevor Anderson (246) led the late model class. Mike Stearns of Aberdeen (208), Nate Heinrich of Bellingham, MN (205), and Adam Brotherton of Huron (193) lead the modified class.
Jeff Rohner of Willmar, Minnesota (223) leads the hornets class, followed by Nathan Smith of Watertown (199) and Christian Kast of Fairmount, North Dakota (194).
Miller Central Speedway
MILLER — Area drivers Trevor Nelson of Warner, Dylan Zabel of Selby, and Mike Stearns of Aberdeen all won features on Friday and Saturday, July 18, 2025.
Nelson (super stocks) and Stearns (late model) both won features that night. Zabel won the modified feature on Friday.
The track’s next scheduled racing event is on Saturday, August 2, at 7 p.m.
With three events remaining, Stearns leads the late model standings by one point. Stark (Midwest modifieds), Broksieck (street stocks), and Nelson are all ranked second in their classifications.
Fiesta City Speedway
Montevideo, Minnesota — The racing schedule on Friday, July 18, began but did not finish due to rain.
The Pure Stock and Hornet Special is set for Friday, July 25 at 7 p.m.
Three events are planned before the special Monday Labor Day Season Championship races on September 1. Area drivers T. Croninger (Gen X Late Models), Scott Tofte of Madison, MN (Midwest modifieds), and Zachary Flickinger of Madison, MN (street stocks) are the season points leaders.
The Season Championships will feature four events on Friday, August 22. Nate Heinrich from Bellingham (MN) presently leads the modified division. Fellow area drivers Darren Engesser of Gary (Midwest modifieds), Shawn Schnabel of Aberdeen (super stocks), and Bradley Rossow of Florence (hornets) are also in third position.
Brown County Speedway
ABERDEEN — Brown County Speedway in Aberdeen will host the Dacotah Bank Rumble doubleheader (including the Tri-State Late Models Special and the DRC.TV Street Stock Tour) on Friday and Saturday, July 25 and 26. Racing begins at 7 a.m. every night.
Another racing program is set for Friday, August 1, prior to the Season Championship races on Friday, August 22.
Stark leads the Midwest modified division point standings, followed by Zabel and Aberdeen’s Taylor Schmidt. Jayden Bogh of Huron leads the street stocks, followed by Rossow and Kyle Bertram of Dallas.
Becker leads the late model division, ahead of Kent Arment of Aberdeen and Thomas Weisgram of Northville. Stearns, Brotherton, and Arment rank 1-2-3 in the modified class.
Austin Arbogast of Huron and Mark Abeln of Groton are joint leaders in super stocks. Stuart Schipke from Aberdeen is third.
Madison Speedway
Madison, Minnesota — The usual weekly racing program at Madison (MN) Speedway is scheduled for Saturday, July 26 at 7 p.m.
Three events are planned before the special Monday Labor Day Season Championship races on September 1.
Area drivers T. Croninger (Gen X Late Models), Scott Tofte of Madison, MN (Midwest modifieds), and Zachary Flickinger of Madison, MN (street stocks) are the season points leaders.
Special races at Canby
Gen X late models, Midwest modifieds, street stocks, and hornets will compete at the Yellow Medicine County Fair on Thursday, July 24, at Renegade Speedway in Canby, Minnesota. Races begin at 7 p.m.
