MCDONALD, Ohio — Kyle Puckett threw four touchdown passes to lead McDonald to a 48-20 victory over Western Reserve in Week 4.
McDonald took an early lead with Puckett’s 32-yard pass to Jordan Perry for a touchdown, followed by Casey Miller’s short run to the end zone to make it 14-0 in the first quarter.
Western Reserve’s Timmy Serensky answered with a rushing touchdown in the second quarter, bringing the score to 14-7.
Puckett hit his target again in the second quarter with a 29-yard pass to Joshua Krumpak for another touchdown to extend their lead, and they added two more passing touchdowns in the second, giving Krumpak and Miller their second of the night. McDonald led 35-7.
When Miller returned from halftime, he picked up where he left off and scored a rushing touchdown, his third of the night. McDonald led 42-7 in the third quarter.
With a minute left in the third quarter, Serensky scored another rushing touchdown as Western Reserve attempted to cut into McDonald’s lead. The score was 42-14 entering the fourth quarter.
Western Reserve did not give up hope, scoring on an 85-yard run by Nate Alexander, but McDonald responded shortly before the game’s end.
Western Reserve (1-3) will host Lowellville in week five. McDonald (4-0) will go to Jackson-Milton.
