A 17-year-old girl in Georgia who is facing adult murder charges for allegedly killing her mother and stepfather — shooting them both dead inside their own home — made TikToks about the couple after their deaths, saying things like “should prob delete later” and “miss them so much,” along with selfie videos that she posted just days before her arrest, according to police.
“Take me back to the beach rn,” Sarah Patrick, of Tyus, allegedly wrote in the caption of a June 30 post accompanying a purported video of her at the beach posted on her personal TikTok account, @sgrace04282, which Law&Crime confirmed as hers with local police on Wednesday. The teen was arrested on July 8 and charged with the deaths of her mother, Kristin Brock, and stepfather, James Brock, in February after being turned over to cops by her biological father.
“If you asked me about my mom and stepdad, I’d say I miss them so much,” Patrick allegedly wrote in a text overlay of a photo of herself on May 17, which was featured in a collage post showing images of the Brocks and Patrick’s younger sister, who police say discovered the couple’s bodies.
“But if you were to ask me on a deeper level, I’d tell you that I just wanna go home,” the teen allegedly said in text overlays for the other photos. “I’m so homesick and miss them so much that I can’t stand not being able to see them anymore. It sucks more than anything. I feel like I am in a never-ending horror movie. And, on top of that, I still don’t know how someone could have done this, let alone why. Why them? Why is that? Just why. “How could they?”
The post is captioned, “Should probably delete later.”
Police inform Law&Crime that they have been made aware of the account and have confirmed that it belongs to Patrick. The teen is charged as an adult with two counts of murder and two counts of aggravated assault.
On February 20, authorities discovered the Brocks dead at their home after Patrick allegedly called 911 to report that her 6-year-old sister had discovered their bodies.
“To me, she is probably the saddest victim in all of this,” said Ashley Hulsey, a spokesperson for the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, during a Tuesday afternoon news conference to announce Patrick’s arrest and charges. Hulsey stated that the younger child was unaware of what occurred after discovering her parents with multiple gunshot wounds that day.
“Smallest daughter found them and then she came and told Sarah and Sarah made the 911 call,” according to Hulsey.” “Sarah was in the home.”
Patrick allegedly took to TikTok just weeks later to post about the Brocks and what happened, writing in another text overlay for a March 1 video, “They don’t know it but a year from now me and my 5 year old sister [sic] would find them wrongfully shot dead in our home and won’t get to watch me graduate high school, see me walk down the isle, and couldn’t even say goodbye.”
Patrick was brought to the sheriff’s office by her biological father, Doniel Patrick, who had tagged her in a Facebook post about being in her “corner” only three days before.
“To my daughter, never doubt your place in this world,” the post read. “You were sent here with purpose, wrapped in grace, and born to shine in ways only your soul understands. I see you, I believe in you, and I will always be on your side.”
Police have stated that the investigation into the Brock killings is ongoing. When asked if Patrick tried to hide what happened, Hulsey responded, “Considering that she didn’t just immediately tell us what happened, yes. But who knows what goes through a young person’s mind like that?”
Patrick’s biological father allegedly turned her over to police after authorities informed her that she had arrest warrants, according to cops.
“It’s very possible that others are involved as well,” Husley said. “We are still working with her diligently, our investigators have been speaking with her.”
