MANSFIELD, Ohio — A juvenile was taken to the hospital after accidentally being shot in the face, according to police.
According to Mansfield Police Chief Jason Bammann, the shooting occurred when two juveniles were “messing with a firearm” at North Lake Park shortly before 2:40 p.m. on Friday.
The victim’s injuries were not life-threatening, according to police, and a juvenile suspect has been arrested in connection with the incident.
Police say this appears to be an isolated incident with no immediate threat to public safety.
