Erie County, Ohio – A 32-year-old Ohio woman has been arrested for allegedly killing her boyfriend, who was reported missing late last year.

Dy’mond Vaden, 32, is charged with murder, felonious assault, tampering with evidence, gross abuse of a corpse, and possessing weapons while disabled for the death of her boyfriend, George Cox, Jr., 32.

Cox was reported missing on November 8, 2024.

Officers conducted a wellness check at Cox’s home, which she shared with Vaden, while investigating the missing person.

When officers arrived, they discovered a vacant apartment with little furniture and what appeared to be blood on the floor. The investigation determined that the blood found was Cox’s.

Nearly a year later, a kayaker discovered Cox’s body in a shallow, marshy section of the river south of State Route 2.

His body was wrapped in a fitted bed sheet and secured with marine-style rope.

Investigators discovered Cox’s blood on clothing items recovered from Vaden’s home, as well as the bed sheet Cox was wrapped in, which was found in their shared apartment.

DNA evidence and phone records connected her to the crime, according to the release.

Cleveland police arrested Vaden and 41-year-old Emmanuel McQueen Jr.

During the arrest, police discovered a firearm in the home, despite the fact that both individuals were disabled.

McQueen was charged with having weapons while disabled.

Both will be arraigned at the Cuyahoga County Justice Center at a later date.
