ST. HENRY, Ohio — We’ve officially reached the halfway point of the high school football regular season, and Week 5 provided plenty of highlights. However, only one moment stood out as the K&M Contracting Play of the Week.
That honor goes to the St. Henry Redskins, who executed a textbook flea flicker in their Midwest Athletic Conference game against Anna.
In the first half, Will Speck received the handoff before returning it to quarterback Charlie Werling. With time to survey the field, Werling threw a deep pass to Carter Laguire for a game-changing touchdown.
The big play scored St. Henry’s first points of the night, and the Redskins never looked back. They rolled to a 28-7 victory over the Rockets, improving to 3-2 on the season.
St. Henry will look to continue their momentum in Week 6 when they travel to Minster.
Congratulations to Speck, Werling, and Laguire for winning this week’s Play of the Week award.
