SIOUX FALLS, South Dakota — Nearly a month after a Sioux Falls shooting, a suspect has been arrested.
Zachariah Ruffner, 21, faces six counts of Aggravated Assault.
He is being held under a $100,000 cash bond.
This all occurred shortly after midnight on June 22nd, near 11th Street and First Avenue. It was a hot summer day, so court documents state that people were walking around and sitting on the patio of a nearby business.
Between midnight and 1 a.m., witnesses reported seeing a man in a ski mask standing on the sidewalk near 11th Street.
Several other men wearing ski masks were at the other end of the lot, about 50 feet away.
According to court documents, at least two guns fired multiple shots. One of the men in the group was hit in the groin and had to be hospitalized.
Investigators used surveillance footage from the area to identify five of the individuals involved.
According to court documents, the man on the sidewalk was Zachariah Ruffner, age 21.
He appeared in court for the first time on Thursday, charged with six counts of Aggravated Assault.
