OHIO — The Bowling Green Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is looking into a single motorbike accident that happened Thursday evening in Middletown Township.
The collision occurred around 7:14 p.m. on Interstate 75 northbound near milepost 185.
According to investigators, a 2001 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was driving north when it pulled over to the right shoulder.
As the motorbike came to a halt, it was dropped on the roadside shoulder.
Thomas Crisenbery, 45, of Lima, operated the motorbike.
His passenger, 44-year-old Shavawn Joyce of Lima, was taken to St. Vincent Medical Centre by Middletown Township EMS after suffering non-life threatening injuries. Crisenbery was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Authorities reported that neither rider was wearing a DOT-compliant helmet at the time of the crash.
The Middletown Township Fire Department and EMS assisted on the scene. The Ohio State Highway Patrol is reminding all motorcycle riders to obey traffic laws and wear helmets at all times.
