Maumee Bay State Park’s most recent beach-bacteria threat was declared over at 10:40 a.m. Thursday, 19 minutes after a new bacteria advisory was issued for the East Harbor State Park beach in Marblehead, Ohio.
The two parks are separated by 41 miles of Lake Erie shoreline.
The Ohio Department of Health issued the announcements via two separate emails. The Ottawa County Health Department issues and removes advisories.
Maumee Bay State Park issued an inland beach advisory on Tuesday morning. It took almost exactly 48 hours. Most advisories are issued in response to thunderstorms and other forms of inclement weather.
