On Tuesday, JD Vance will return to Ohio to support the state GOP

On June 24, Vice President JD Vance will return to Ohio for the Ohio Republican Party dinner in Lima.

The event is billed as “an evening of support” for Vance, a Middletown native. The dinner, priced at $75 per person, is sold out, according to a recording on the Allen County Republican Party’s voicemail and Facebook posts.

The party will hold the dinner at the Veterans Memorial Civic & Convention Center in Lima’s downtown. Lima, the county seat of Allen County, is approximately halfway between Dayton and Toledo. In the 2024 presidential election, approximately 55% of Allen County voters favored Donald Trump, while 43% supported Kamala Harris.

Vance will deliver the keynote address and meet with Ohio Republican leaders, according to a press release.

In recent days, the vice president has expressed support for the administration’s decision to attack three key nuclear facilities in Iran on June 21, as part of Israel’s bombing raids that began on June 13.

Vance also suggested that if Iran refuses to abandon its nuclear enrichment program, Trump may order military action.

Travel near Vance’s East Walnut Hills home will be restricted until June 30, according to the city of Cincinnati.

Residents living on closed roads, as well as delivery trucks and other commercial drivers, will be able to access them through clearly marked security checkpoints, according to the city.
