Wapakoneta – The Ohio State Highway Patrol announced today that an OVI checkpoint will be set up on Celina Road in Auglaize County tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. Partner agencies assisting with the checkpoint include the Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office, the Saint Mary’s Police Department, and the Ohio Department of Transportation.
The OVI checkpoints, funded by federal grants, are intended to deter and intercept impaired drivers.
The checkpoint will also be held in conjunction with nearby saturation patrols to combat impaired driving-related injuries and fatalities.
If you intend to drink alcohol, make a designated driver or other travel arrangements ahead of time.
Don’t let another life be lost as a result of the reckless and selfish act of driving.
