CLEVELAND, Ohio – Temperatures across Northeast Ohio are expected to dip into the 40s and low 50s overnight before rebounding to near-normal highs by Wednesday afternoon. Clear skies and calm winds will contribute to the cool conditions, particularly in areas farther from Lake Erie.
The National Weather Service in Cleveland reports that overnight lows will run 5 to 10 degrees below average, with inland cities like Wooster and Ravenna potentially dropping to 47°F. Meanwhile, Cleveland and Erie, PA, will stay slightly milder in the mid-50s due to the moderating effect of Lake Erie.
By Wednesday, sunshine and high pressure will help push afternoon highs into the upper 70s to near 80 degrees. Akron-Canton, Elyria, and Mansfield are expected to peak around 78°F, while Findlay and Fremont could see readings closer to 81°F. This warmup will bring conditions back to seasonal norms following the unusually cool night.
Travel and outdoor activities are not expected to face disruptions, though light jackets may be useful in the early morning hours. The region should remain dry through midweek with no rain in the forecast.
