A former Cedar Point employee is raising concerns about where many of the employees live. Joey Davis claims the dorms where employees pay to stay have mold. Kent’s East Main Street roundabout construction due to start this month

Construction crews intend to overhaul the always-busy E. Main Street, which is just steps from Kent State’s campus and close to several popular restaurants and businesses. They will construct a roundabout on East Main Street, right at the busy intersection of South Willow Street and Haymaker Parkway. A second roundabout will be installed at the Horning Road Intersection.

The sale of adult-use recreational marijuana in Ohio began exactly one year ago. There are now 159 dispensaries in the state, and the Ohio Division of Cannabis Control reports that non-medical product sales have totaled more than $702 billion.

Back to school spending

According to a recent Credit Karma survey, 25% of parents do not have any savings set aside for back-to-school supplies. More than half of parents intend to forego necessities, such as groceries, to ensure their child has everything they need for the school year.

Traffic impacts

SR-13 north of Good Road in Medina County is currently closed for culvert replacement. It’s scheduled to reopen on Friday. The detour is SR-3 to I-76 east, SR-57 north, and SR-162 west to SR-3. If you are traveling southbound, reverse it.

SR-13 between Alpha Road and Omega Road in Huron County is currently closed for culvert replacement. It is set to reopen on Friday, August 29. The detour is SR-13 to U.S. 224 east, then U.S. 250 west to SR-13.
