Mild Temperatures and Isolated Thunderstorms Expected in Dodge City, Kansas

Dodge City, KS – Residents in southwest Kansas should prepare for the possibility of isolated thunderstorms this evening, with mild temperatures in the 60s and 70s overnight. Weather officials are predicting that some areas may experience brief storms as part of the changing weather pattern.

According to the US National Weather Service in Dodge City, a couple of isolated thunderstorms may develop across extreme southwest Kansas through late Tuesday evening. The latest forecast, issued at 3:17 p.m., predicts overnight lows ranging from the upper 60s in the west to the low and mid-70s in central and eastern parts of the region.

Forecasters are also noting that southerly winds will continue throughout the evening, averaging between 10 and 20 mph, with occasional gusts reaching 30 mph. While widespread severe weather is not expected, residents are advised to remain weather aware, particularly those in areas near the Oklahoma border, where thunderstorms are more likely to develop.

While most of the region will stay dry, a brief shower or thunderstorm is still possible. Any storms that do form are expected to be fast-moving, bringing brief downpours and gusty winds. Residents and motorists in the area are encouraged to monitor local updates and use caution if storms occur, as sudden rainfall could create slick roads in isolated spots.

This advisory is part of the ongoing efforts by the National Weather Service to keep Kansas residents informed about the ever-changing summer storm patterns in the region.
