Dayton, Ohio – The Mercer County Fair will host a charity pie auction this Sunday.
The 27th Annual Pie Auction is a tradition that benefits both the fairgrounds and the community. This year’s auction honors the memory of Glen Florence, who founded the event. It will be held on August 10.
People can turn in their peach pies for the baking contest by 2:30 p.m.
The Pie Auction will open at 5 p.m. for bidders and donors. The highest bidder receives the pie, and all proceeds benefit the fairgrounds.
Since 2016, the auction has generated more than $179,000 in proceeds. Glen Florence’s projects have included the following:
