Mental health assistance provided to Haitian newcomers in Lima

LIMA, Ohio – Mental health is an important topic for people to learn more about.

Lima Councilman Derry Glenn organized a mental health support program for Haitian immigrants. According to Dr. Glenn, this program is an important step toward providing culturally responsive mental health resources to Lima’s new residents.

They are providing them with resources and outlets to help them find what they require.

“My main concern is determining which direction to seek assistance. You know, their mental health is the main thing we talk to them about. And how could they? The majority of their questions stem from job opportunities that do not hire them because they must learn English. So we’ll work on that,” said Derry Glenn, a Lima 6th Ward councilman.
