Lima's new Community Aquatic Park is planned to open on August 30

LIMA, Ohio – The City of Lima reminds residents that the new Lima Community Aquatic Park will open tomorrow, Saturday, August 30th, after much anticipation.

While many area pools are preparing to close for the season, this cutting-edge facility is just getting started. The doors will open at 9 a.m. on Saturday, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9:15 a.m. The aquatic park has an indoor multipurpose lap pool with a retractable roof, a family activity pool with water slides, and a shallow-water “sprayground” designed for young children.

The $11.6 million facility was built debt-free using American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds from the city and investments from Lima City Schools and the State of Ohio. Admission costs $5 for children aged 2 to 12, seniors, and veterans, $7 for adults aged 13 to 59, and $20 for a family of four. Membership rates are also available.

The hours for Labor Day weekend are as follows:

  1. Saturday, Aug. 30: Indoor pool 9 a.m. – 6 p.m., outdoor pool 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  2. Sunday, Aug. 31: Both pools open 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  3. Monday, Sept. 1 (Labor Day): Outdoor pool only, 12 p.m. – 5 p.m.
