LIMA, Ohio — The Lima Firefighters completed another successful Fill the Boot campaign on Saturday.
On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, Lima Fire Department Local 334 members collected donations at the intersection of Robb Avenue and West Street for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).
The Lima firefighters have been supporting the MDA for nearly two decades. Thanks to generous donations from drivers who stopped to drop money into the boots, they are on track to meet or even beat last year’s record of $16,000 raised.
“Oh, there are a lot of people who are thrilled to do it. They return a few times, dropping money each time. Some people look forward to it every year, and we have repeat customers, which I love. I’m just glad that people care about other people, and I do as well, which is why I’m here,” said Shae Manley of Lima Fire Department Local 334.
It is not too late to assist the Lima Firefighters in their efforts to support the MDA. You can donate online by scanning this QR code.
