A 58-year-old woman died after being struck by a vehicle on Monday morning, according to Elyria Police.
Officers responded to the area of State Route 37 and Cleveland Street around 6:40 a.m. after receiving a report of a pedestrian being struck, according to police.
When officers and EMS arrived, they provided aid to the woman, who was taken to a nearby hospital and later pronounced dead, according to police.
According to preliminary investigations, a 22-year-old man driving a Dodge Charger was traveling eastbound on Cleveland Street when he turned onto SR 37, striking the woman who was crossing the street.
Elyria Police are investigating and do not believe drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash.
