Harrod, Ohio — A motorcyclist who was not wearing a helmet died on Saturday after colliding with a ditch, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Stephen Snyder, 45, of Lima, was riding a 2016 Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound on Hay Road near Harrod, Ohio, in Allen County, shortly before 2 p.m.

According to a news release from the patrol’s Lima Post, the motorcycle approached the T-intersection at Amherst Road and then continued straight off the road, striking a large ditch.

The patrol stated that drugs appear to have played a role in the crash, which is still being investigated.
