According to the National Weather Service, the heat index will reach up to 106°F in Nashville and surrounding areas, including Columbia, Waverly, and Clarksville. The extreme heat will persist throughout the day Monday, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., with high humidity making it feel even hotter. The National Weather Service is urging residents to take immediate precautions, particularly those in vulnerable populations, including the elderly, children, and pets.
During these hot conditions, staying hydrated is critical.
