The crimes described here are preliminary investigations conducted in the field by deputies and may or may not be assigned to a Detective for further investigation. Further investigation may reveal that the information provided was incorrect or false. 0809 hrs. – Dispatched Wren Fire for Mutual Aid with Adams County, Indiana, for a structure fire on State Route 101.

0849 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of U.S. Route 30 in Ridge Township for a report of a motor vehicle crash. Unit One was a 2018 Jeep Compass driven by Sarah Rayle of Auburn.  Unit Two was a 2016 Ford F350 driven by Samuel Camp of Leetonia. A large piece of metal fell off a trailer being pulled by Unit Two and was struck by Unit One. No injuries were reported

0916 hrs. – Deputies responded to a location on John Brown Road in Pleasant Township for a report of breaking and entering.

1001 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of U.S. Route 224 in Harrison Township for a report of a loose dog.

1144 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Alexander Road in Willshire Township for a report of failure to confine a dog.

1206 hrs. – Deputies with a resident from Dutch John Road in Union Township for a complaint of fraud.

1248 hrs.  Deputies responded to an area of West Main Street in the City of Van Wert for a report of a loose dog.

1451 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on John Brown Road in the City of Van Wert to assist a motorist locked out of their vehicle.

 1622 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Dog Creek Road in Ridge Township to contact a resident on behalf of the Van Wert City Police.

1720 hrs. – Deputies, along with Van Wert Fire and Ohio City EMS, responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash on U.S. Route 224 in Pleasant Township.  The incident was investigated by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

1805 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Chenowith Road in Ridge Township for a motor vehicle crash that occurred on private property.

1823 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Convoy Heller Road in Harrison Township for a report of reckless driving.

2019 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Ringwald Road in Ridge Township for a report of a motor vehicle crash. Unit One was driving southbound on Ringwald Road. Unit One had missed the road exit at Knittle Road and was sitting stationary in the right lane. Unit Two was traveling approximately 55 M.P.H. when it approached Unit One on the side of the road. Unit Two claimed that Unit One had swerved into their lane when they tried to pass Unit One. Unit Two then advised that he was forced to drive off the roadway to avoid a collision.  Unit One advised that they had never swerved into the oncoming lane of traffic. Unit One claimed that Unit Two had flown off the side of the road before she had made any movements to turn around. Unit One received no vehicle damage. Unit Two received damage underneath the vehicle. All occupants in both vehicles were wearing seatbelts. It was apparent from the tire marks that Unit One had swerved into Unit Two while attempting to turn around.              

2126 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Stripe Road in Ridge Township for a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a deer; no injuries were reported.

2136 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Fox Road in the City of Van Wert to assist the Van Wert Police.

0251 hrs. – Deputies responded to a location on South Washington Street in the City of Van Wert to assist a motorist locked out of their vehicle.

0901 hrs. – Dispatched Van Wert EMS to a location on North Market Street in the City of Van Wert for a subject with chest pain.

0922 hrs. – Dispatched Convoy EMS to a residence on Convoy Road in Union Township for a subject who had passed out.

1035 hrs – Deputies responded to a residence on Walcott Street in the Village of Willshire to stand by as peace officers while a subject retrieved property.

1022 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Burris Road in Liberty Township to assist a motorist locked out of their vehicle.

1042 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of East Third Street in the City of Van Wert for a report of a loose dog.

1156 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Hoghe Road in Liberty Township to check an abandoned 911 call.

1241 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of State Route 49 in Willshire Township for a report of a possible rolling domestic.

1242 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Dog Creek Road in Ridge Township for a complaint of theft.

1302 hrs. – Deputies responded to a location on South Washington Street in the City of Van Wert to assist a motorist locked out of their vehicle.

1328 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on State Route 49 in Harrison Township for a report of an abandoned vehicle.

1428 hrs. – Deputies responded to a location on South Shannon Street in the City of Van Wert to assist a motorist locked out of their vehicle.

1600 hrs. – Deputies, along with Convoy Fire and EMS, responded to an area of U.S. Route 30 in Pleasant Township for a motor vehicle crash involving a deer. The incident was investigated by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

1945 hrs. – Deputies responded to a location on U.S. Route 33 in Willshire Township to check an abandoned 911 call.

1946 hrs. – Deputies responded to a location on Liberty Union Road in Pleasant Township to stand by as peace officers during a child exchange.

2023 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Sycamore Street in the Village of Convoy for a report of an open door on a residence.

2024 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Short Street in the Village of Ohio City to assist with unruly juveniles.
