Firefighters from throughout the state combat the 14-acre Aqueduct Fire near Mojave with air support

Mojave, California — Multiple fire departments from across the state are battling a small wildfire near Mojave.

The Angeles National Forest reported that crews are assisting the BLM California Desert District and the Kern County Fire Department with a brush fire near Chuckwalla Mountain, north of Mojave.

Air tankers have been deployed to provide precision fire retardant drops to assist ground-based firefighting efforts.

According to Cal Fire, the so-called Aqueduct Fire has consumed nearly 14 acres. There is no word on containment. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
