Everybody loved her' 86-year-old Fort Wayne woman killed in weekend shooting is named

Fort Wayne, Indiana – The Allen County Coroner’s Office has officially identified the 86-year-old woman who was fatally shot inside her home early Sunday morning.

According to the Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD), officers responded to a shooting in the 900 block of Colerick Street around 2 a.m. on Sunday, June 1.

Police say they discovered a woman inside the house with gunshot wounds, who was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police say they are still searching for a suspect.

On Monday, the coroner identified the woman as Alice F. Hall, 86, of Fort Wayne.

Her death was ruled a homicide, the 16th in Allen County this year.

21Alive News spoke with a neighbor who knew Hall and was disturbed to hear about the shooting.

“Everyone knew and loved her… “Why would anyone want to do this to Mother Hall, a loving mother in the community?” Neighbor Bradford Smith said.
