New Knoxville, Ohio — New Knoxville is hosting its annual Independence Day celebration.
The community picnic, a long-standing tradition, takes place on the last weekend of June and includes food vendors, games, live music, and family activities. Every year, the event raises thousands of dollars to help improve the community park.
“We try to incorporate different activities for kids to do, especially the younger ones,” said Matthew Stetler, the New Knoxville Park Board’s vice president. “We have kids’ tents with blow-ups and inflatables for them to enjoy while the parents can socialise and enjoy the weekend as well.”
In previous years, the proceeds have gone towards funding the community splash pad. The park’s next goal is to create an all-ability playground.
