Brady Kiser, the husband of social media influencer Emilie Kiser, told police that he was watching the couple’s infant son when their 3-year-old son, Trigg, fell into the pool at the family’s Chandler, Arizona, home and drowned on May 12, according to search warrant applications obtained by TODAY.com.

Trigg died at the hospital on May 18, six days after drowning.

Brady Kiser informed the Chandler Police Department that he and his two young sons were the only ones at home on May 12. He told investigators that his wife was out with friends. Brady Kiser told police that after eating, Trigg went into the family’s backyard to play, and that he saw the 3-year-old by the pool, which was “not uncommon.”

According to the documents, Brady Kiser told police that the family’s pool was usually covered for safety.

He claimed he became “distracted” while caring for his younger son and lost sight of Trigg for three to five minutes before noticing him floating in the pool.

Brady Kiser rescued Trigg from the pool and contacted authorities, who took him to Chandler Regional Medical Center and then Phoenix Children’s Hospital. He was listed as in critical condition before passing away.

A spokesperson for the Chandler Police Department stated last month that an investigation into the incident is ongoing.

“Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with the child’s family and loved ones during this unimaginable time,” Sonu Wasu, a Chandler Police Department spokesperson, told TODAY.com shortly after Trigg died.

Emilie and Brady Kiser welcomed Trigg in July 2021. The couple welcomed another son, Theodore, earlier this year.

In 2023, Emilie announced on TikTok that Trigg was taking swim lessons.

“At our friend’s birthday that other day, he was literally jumping on and off the diving board, probably 40 times, I kid you not,” said the popular blogger. She hasn’t posted on any social media platforms since the May incident.
