LANCASTER – A Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputy was wounded and an armed robbery suspect was killed in a shootout in Lancaster on Saturday.
The incident began with a robbery call for service at 7:20 p.m. Saturday in the 1200 block of Meadow View Circle, near West Avenue K and 12th Street West, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
A shootout occurred between at least one deputy and a man suspected of armed robbery, resulting in the suspect’s death on the scene and the deputy being transported to Antelope Valley Hospital for surgery.
The deputy is in critical but stable condition, according to the LASD.
