- North Main Street Safety Improvements:Â Resurfacing and streetscape upgrades, including pedestrian medians, curb extensions, and new lighting, continuing through mid-2025.
- Salem & Philadelphia Intersection Reconstruction:Â Enhanced lighting and pedestrian safety features.
- South Main Street Reconstruction:Â New roadway, sidewalks, and lighting from Sixth Street to Patterson Boulevard.
- Street and Sidewalk Projects:Â Additional projects extending sidewalks and repaving roads throughout Dayton neighborhoods such as Manhattan Boulevard extension and Berry Street connector which will connect residential areas with downtown and the Ohio River.
- Riverfront Commons Trail Expansion: Phase II river’s-edge trail project promises improved access and scenic walking/biking paths alongside the Ohio River, designed to enhance recreational opportunities and connectivity.
- Stormwater Improvements:Â Multiple projects aimed at reducing flooding and drainage issues at key intersection points like Fourth Avenue and Kenton Street.
- Dayton International Airport Infrastructure:Â A $78 million investment funded by the All Ohio Future Fund will improve airport aprons, taxiways, and surrounding roads, boosting capacity for corporate development and economic growth around the airport region.
- Other Citywide Improvements:Â Including ADA ramps installation, street mill and repaving, and plans for pedestrian safety enhancements citywide.
The mayor emphasizes these projects will improve safety, traffic flow, and quality of life while supporting economic development, though some temporary inconveniences are expected during construction phases. The city is leveraging state and federal grants alongside local resources to maximize impact.
