Shawnee Township, Allen County, Ohio – Car, truck and motorcycle enthusiasts from all over the area gathered to show off their vehicles and support local charities.
This year marked the 18th Annual Charity Car Show. Thanks to the sunny weather, a few hundred cars, trucks, and motorcycles were on display at Apollo Career Centre. There were restored classic cars, tricked-out rides, and eye-catching paint jobs to admire. The top vehicles received trophies. In addition to the entry fees, organisers raised additional funds through 50-50 and raffle drawings, all of which benefited various charitable organisations.
“All these people enjoy doing that. They enjoy hanging out together, but they also enjoy giving back to the community. It’s a lot of work, but it’s fun. In the end, the rewards are worthwhile. This is a good time. “We’re going to raise a lot of money for charity today,” says Charity Car Show organiser John Waller.
Following the event, the board will meet to determine which charities will receive the donations. Last year’s recipients included the Veterans Food Pantry, Crossroads Crisis Centre, and Allen County Council on Ageing.
