Rapid City, South Dakota – Several seasonal shops have opened on Sturgis’ Main Street, and vendor tents are being set up in large numbers on Lazelle Street in preparation for the 85th Annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
Several vendors expect this year’s rally to be well-attended, and some say they often make good money before the annual celebration begins.
Out-of-town motorcycle clubs have begun to arrive in Sturgis. Members of an Idaho group stated that they arrived early to enjoy riding in the Black Hills before traffic picks up and to allow first-time attendees to settle in.
