Chadron Police Department- On July 26, 2025, at approximately 12:30 a.m., Officer Orsborn and K-9 Sukey were patrolling and noticed a minivan driving westbound on Highway 20 without headlights or taillights.
Officer Orsborn conducted a traffic stop on the minivan and, while speaking with the driver, detected the odor of marijuana coming from within the vehicle. Officer Orsborn deployed K-9 Sukey, and a search of the vehicle yielded several items of drug paraphernalia, as well as approximately 1 gram of suspected methamphetamine and marijuana residue.
Following the traffic stop and investigation, the driver of the minivan, 25-year-old Kasandra Thunder Hawk, was arrested and taken to the Dawes County Jail for Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
