FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Allen County Sheriff Troy Hershberger plans to hold a press conference Wednesday afternoon to discuss “recent acts of violence in our community.” He will be joined by Fort Wayne Mayor Sharon Tucker, an Allen County Prosecutor’s Office representative, and Roderick Parker, a community leader.
The sheriff is expected to speak out about the recent beating of a Black man at a bar in Allen County, just outside of Fort Wayne. A video of the beating began circulating on social media, causing outrage among many in the community. The press conference is set for 1:30 p.m. at the Allen County Courthouse.
The incident occurred at Pike’s Pub, located on Winchester Road south of Lower Huntington Road.

The video shows several white men wearing ‘Outlaw’ vests attacking a Black man. The video also includes racial slurs and other explicit language. The Outlaws are a motorcycle gang known for criminal activity.
The Allen County Sheriff’s Department is looking into the beating, and according to a press release, the initial call was for the removal of an intoxicated person from the bar. Before officers arrived, there was a fight inside the bar. Officers arrived at the scene and spoke with the fight victim, who stated that he “did not want to provide information on the individuals responsible for his injuries.”
The man was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital in fair condition.
