LIMA, Ohio – A man was arrested after a shooting and standoff early Friday morning on Lima’s south side.

William “Frankie” Edge, 46, was arrested and is being held at the Allen County Jail on two outstanding warrants, as well as suspicion of felonious assault and weapons under disability charges.

According to detectives, the incident started around 12:30 a.m. Friday when Edge allegedly got into a fight with his girlfriend, Breanna Cochran, 25, at a home in the 900 block of Greenlawn Avenue. She told police that Edge fired a shot at her, missed, and then left the house.

While officers were speaking with Cochran, they heard gunfire from 792 Greenlawn Avenue. Police arrived and discovered Edge barricaded inside the home.

Officers surrounded the home and called in detectives, as well as the Lima Police Department’s Crisis Negotiation Team and SWAT Team. Following a several-hour standoff, a search warrant was obtained, and the SWAT Team entered the house and arrested Edge.

He was hospitalized after being exposed to the SWAT Team’s chemical agents. The incident is still under investigation.
