After a collision in downtown Lima, two people were hospitalized

LIMA, Ohio – Two people were taken to the hospital after a two-vehicle crash in Lima on Monday afternoon.

At approximately 3:15, two SUVs collided at the intersection of East Pearl Street and North Union Street. The crash resulted in significant damage to both vehicles, with the blue SUV rolling onto its side on nearby grass.

According to officers on the scene, one person was extricated from the blue SUV and taken to the hospital with suspected serious but non-life-threatening injuries. One person from the silver SUV was also transported with suspected minor injuries.

Officers believe the crash was caused by a failure to yield at a stop sign.
