A St. Marys man lost his life in a motorcycle accident on the south side of Lima on Thursday night

LIMA, Ohio – A St. Marys man died Thursday evening after his motorcycle collided with two vehicles on Lima’s south side.

Lima Police were dispatched to the intersection of South St. Johns Avenue and East Fourth Street around 6:15 p.m. for a reported crash. When officers arrived, they discovered 55-year-old Glendon King with serious injuries. He was taken to Lima Memorial Health System and later pronounced dead.

According to a statement from the Lima Police Department, King was driving north on St. Johns Avenue when he attempted to pass several vehicles at the intersection by entering oncoming traffic. During the maneuver, he collided with two vehicles and was thrown from his motorcycle.

According to police, King did not appear to be wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The incident is still under investigation.
