Lorain County, Ohiox — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a Saturday night crash that killed a Lorain motorcyclist.
According to a news release from OSHP’s Elyria Post, troopers responded to a crash between a motorcycle and a Mini Cooper on state Route 58 in Amherst Township around 10:45 p.m.
Troopers said the motorcycle driver was speeding north on state Route 58. As it approached the Interstate 80 exit/entrance ramps, it failed to stop at the red light, colliding with a Mini Cooper turning onto 58 from the exit ramp.
Troopers said the motorcyclist died at the scene. He was identified as Shawn Edgell, 47, of Lorain.
The crash is still being investigated at this time.
