A Mercer County building's roof is torn off by strong winds

Strong winds tore the roof off a building in Mercer County Wednesday evening.

The damage was reported shortly after 6 p.m. near the intersection of U.S. 127 and State Route 219, east of Coldwater.

News Center According to the seven crews on the scene, the damage occurred at JB Truck Service and Parts in the 4600 block of US 127.

Sky 7 footage shows a large portion of the building’s roof ripped off, as well as debris scattered across nearby properties.

The damage occurred as several severe thunderstorms passed through the area, according to a previous News Center 7 report.

Storm Center 7 is working to determine the strength of the storm that caused the damage.
