PIERCE, Nebraska – An autopsy has been scheduled after a man was discovered dead at a Nebraska ethanol plant.
On Saturday, August 16, Pierce County 911 received a call reporting that a person had passed out in a fermenting tank at the Husker Ag Ethanol Production Facility, located east of Plainview, Nebraska.
Plainview Fire and Rescue, along with the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office, responded to the scene.
The Pierce County Attorney stated that upon arrival, attempts to resuscitate the victim, now identified as Randall McElroy, 31, of Cushing, Oklahoma, were unsuccessful. McElroy was pronounced dead on the scene.
The county attorney has ordered an autopsy, and the incident is currently being investigated.
