According to our CBS affiliate in Toledo, WTOL-11 TV, an Ohio man has been accused of hitting three children riding a bicycle early Saturday morning.

Joseph Fox, 34, of Sandusky, was driving southbound in the 2700 block of Campbell Street in Erie County at 2:40 a.m. when the accident occurred.

According to troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol Sandusky Post, Fox allegedly hit three juveniles riding a three-wheeled bicycle from behind.

It was reported that two of the juveniles were ejected from the bicycle, and the third jumped off just before the crash.

Two of the children were hospitalised with serious injuries, while the third was uninjured.

According to troopers, the red light on the back of the bicycle was working at the time of the crash.

None of the juveniles wore helmets.

Fox fled the scene of the crash but was later discovered in a nearby parking lot, according to WTOL-11.

He was arrested and has since been booked into the Erie County Jail, according to jail records.
