A teacher at Lorain County’s Joint Vocational School was recently arrested by the State Highway Patrol for obstructing official business.

Kimberly Wooley, 53, a cosmetology teacher at the Lorain County JVS, was charged on June 28 with obstructing official business, according to Elyria Municipal Court records.

According to a JVS spokesperson, the district has made no comment and is consulting with legal counsel.

A $500 bond was posted, according to Elyria Municipal Court records. Obstructing official business is a second-degree misdemeanor under Ohio state law.

Wooley did not return a request for comment.

Wooley wrote on Facebook Monday that “it is clear that the claims being made are completely false.”

“This is a clear misunderstanding, and I am fully committed to resolving the matter as quickly as possible,” Wooley said. “I am confident that all accusations will be thoroughly reviewed, fully dismissed, and that my name will be cleared of any wrongdoing.”

According to government employee records, Wooley started teaching cosmetology at the Lorain County JVS over 15 years ago.
